Juniper's Family Portrait ~ Bunbury Newborn Photographer

We still remember the light sabre battle we staged outside Abbey Beach Resort a few years ago as requested by Bethany and Ricky on their wedding day. It certainly was a unique day, so of course there was no surprise that mum had a few little ideas up her sleeve when they came in to show off their new baby with us. We just love seeing our past bride and grooms again and helping the mark the next chapter in their lives together. What a beautiful collection of prints and wall art these guys now have to treasure!

Baby Eli ~ Bunbury Newborn Photography

Today we were lucky to have 11 day old baby Eli come in to the studio for a Simply Studio Session. Usually in thirty minutes we capture some beautiful candid photos of bub just doing their thing, but Eli slept from start to finish and posed like a pro for us the whole way through.

Courtney, Ashley, Rusty & Sophie ~ Bunbury Maternity & Newborn Portrait

When Courtney got in touch to enquire about booking a maternity and newborn portrait I got a little bit excited. I always love newborn baby cuddles, but when Courtney let me know about her fur baby Rusty and how she wanted to include him in the sessions I was over the moon. I'm a self confessed crazy dog lady and in our house our dogs are part of the family, so I love when clients feel the same way I do and they get to be part of the amazing things that happen in our lives.  

Not only did we have Rusty joining us on both shoots, but when it was time for the newborn session baby Sophie's nan, aunts and uncle also joined us. It was an epic session with so many people plus a pet (who behaved perfectly by the way ;-)), and a gorgeous baby girl who fought sleep at every moment, but never shying away from a challenge I kept shooting and captured some very special memories of a proud new family. 

Oh, and if you're wondering why Sophie is sleeping surrounded by a tool belt - well daddy's a chippie of course ;-)

Baby Alessandra - 13 days new

Thanks to our joint promotion with Body Firming and Beauty, Kelly and Paul brought their gorgeous baby girl Alessandra to see us for a newborn shoot to capture her early days. She was such a beautiful baby and the session went like an absolute dream :-) 

It was especially lovely to be able to create some memories for her family, many of whom are overseas. At 13 days old she was so alert, with bright shining eyes checking out the world around her. Kelly and Paul were also doing super well as new parents and their relaxed approach was definitely rubbing off on their baby girl, she was just so happy to be here!

We have lots of gorgeous blankets, headbands and props at the studio and we are in our element when we can just use them subtly to style our images while always keeping focus on making baby the star. It never ceases to amaze us how different all babies are, even from day dot. They are full of personality and we love getting to know them and all the little idiosyncrasies that make them unique, those are the memories we really love to capture!

Amari's Baby Portrait

We know that newborn portraits are super special and we love capturing babies when they're brand new, all curled up and sleeping, but babies change so quickly and we have to say that we loved having 3 month-old Amari in the studio recently.

The difference between a 3 month old and a newborn is huge, and we had so much fun capturing her cheeky personality and all the clever things she could do like holding herself up on her tummy, getting to know her hands and feet and smiling for mummy. The bond between new mummy Summer and her baby was just beautiful to see, thank you for sharing a little of yourselves with us and we hope your beautiful artwork is hanging proudly on your walls at home!

Alexa's Milestone Mini Session

Recently we had the absolute pleasure of having gorgeous little 7 month old Alexa in our studio for her very first professional photo shoot. 

We just love babies at this age, so full of life and personality, and little Alexa was just super cute!

At 7 months old Alexa is all smiles, she sits up well and is thinking about starting to crawl, though she's not quite there yet. For now she'll just get up on all fours and rock, but she'll be off soon!

Don't make her lie on her back for long, she'd much rather be up and checking out new things, and of course clapping and laughing with mum and dad <3

Mums-to-Be Morning Tea - Thanks for a Great Event!

Last week we hosted a gorgeous morning tea for a dozen lovely ladies all expecting a new bundle of joy by the end of the year. We had first time mums, family additions and some very generous local business ladies there to enjoy some yummies and spend the morning treating themselves.The event was an absolute hit and everyone had a great time talking babies and making new friends.

Thanks so much to all who came and made it such an enjoyable morning. Special thanks to Lucy at Body Firming & Beauty for the amazing foot massages, Carrina at Bunbury Counselling, Mel at Kiss Chasee, and Sonya at Bambini Impressions who all came along to chat to our mummies-to-be and help introduce them to the world of motherhood, as well as all the other local businesses who generously donated some treats for our goody bags. We're giving ourselves a big pat on the back too for gifting our guests a lovely belly photo each and for generally hosting such a wonderful morning, and we are hoping to see all our guests back at the studio in the coming months so that we can capture this special time with our special pregnancy & newborn portraits.

Happy New Year!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed spending time with your loved ones :-)The studio has now reopened after a well earned two week Christmas break, and we are hard at work catching up with all our enquiries and gearing up for a very busy upcoming wedding season.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to see us at Bunbury Centrepoint in December to have their photo taken with Santa. You all helped make it a truly enjoyable venture and we hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did!

Here at the studio we have made some important New Year resolutions, and top of our list is to dedicate ourselves to making Clare Day Photographic Design the very best it can be, spoiling our clients, and of course spending quality time with our own families.

The studio will now be closed on Mondays, and open for business 9-5 Tuesday to Friday each week. We are also available on weekends by appointment.

Babies...seriously is there anything better?

We had booked in Robyn's Maternity session for an afternoon that turned into quite possibly the wettest April day on record....so our outdoor evening light on the beach session turned into an indoor studio maternity session! Good thing we have a studio now!

I traveled down to Dunsborough for their Lifestyle Newborn session. The difference between a Lifestyle and a Studio session is that a Lifestyle session is more relaxed, casual and natural. I work with natural light, with your home and family...capturing you in your own environment. We can use your baby's nursery, perhaps some of your favorite toys or household furniture.... A studio session is a little more structured, and you capture those amazing sleepy newborn looking amaaaaaazing shots. Both styles are awesome, its just what suits YOU as a new parent!

We realise things have been pretty quiet in blog town lately here at Clare Day but it's not because we haven't been hard at work. In fact it's because we have been soooo hard at work that we just haven't had time!

So many exciting things have been happening that it's hard to even know where to start. But let's try starting here......

Business is going so well and we love our clients so much that we decided you deserve a beautiful space to come and visit when you come to see us.

And we deserve it too ;-)

Our studio is a classy space full of beautiful smiling faces (on the walls and in the office!) where you can come to see our latest and greatest work, catch up with us, and make big beautiful plans to create amazing memories - from weddings and milestones to all the moments in between.

Of course with such a lovely space at our disposal we thought it would be a shameful waste if we didn't make the very most of it, so stay tuned for our next post...when we'll be introducing you to our awesomely talented new studio photographer Jo!
